Having been closely touched by early childhood cancer and knowing that only 5% of funds raised by major cancer fundraisers goes to the pediatric section, Project Avanti was created in 2014. Its mission is to get people connected and moved through art, while raising funds and awareness to kids' cancer throughout the community.

 

Twice a year, Project Avanti plans to put together a variety of artistic events: once in the Fall putting kids on stage to honor kids going through cancer and their families, and once in the Spring with high quality professional ensembles to reach out the community.

 

So far, all events have been very well received and all funds raised were sent out to the Cellular Therapies Program at UCLA Mattel Children's hospital. Some day chemotherapy could be replaced by these innovative types of treatments.
